Letter #6

Hey Family! This week has been really good. We have a bunch of investigators that are planning on getting baptized. Let me tell you about some of our investigators. The first ones name is antonio we taught him the first lesson at a members house just last friday. On saturday we had an appointment with him and he told us that when he was walking home from the first appointment, he walked by a church and a man walked out and said "hi brother" for some reason he thought that it was a sign from God that he should get baptized. so we committed him to get baptized on sunday and he accepted! But he has a smoking problem so he didn't pass the interview but he said that he is going to quite smoking so we are going to baptize him this sunday. Another of our investigators has been wanting to get baptized but she has been living with her boyfriend so we told her that she has to get married. Instead she kicked him out so she should be ready for baptism this sunday as well. We have 2 other investigators with a baptismal date all ready for this month and have a lot of others that are getting pretty close. My spanish is coming along pretty good. It is very hard for me to understand what people are trying to tell me but I am able to talk kind of. It is really hard because I only get an hour a day to study and the rest of the day is my comp. teaching lessons. I am teaching parts of the lessons to. On a scale of 1-10 my spanish is like a 3-4??? In your last e-mail you asked me where we like to eat. we go to panda express a lot, little Ceasars, and Starbucks haha. I know starbucks is a coffee shop but they make a smothie that has no caffine called vinilla bean. It's amazing. Thanks for the cookies. they are sooo good. I havent gained any weight but havent lost any either. We still haven't go the house or the car. I think the mission was lying to us the whole time. I guess they do that a lot. I will let you know if anything else changes but I have to go my 30 min is up love you all.love, Elder Naylorp.s. keep sending pictures of jake!!! he is so cute!

Letter #5

Hey family!
This weekend was awesome! I loved general confrence. I saw every session, it was amazing. We invited our investigators to come. I think this month is going to be big for us on baptisms because we got 10 investigators to come! That's a lot. Then Sunday night we went to an investigator's house, who has denied our committmint for him to get baptised the past 6 months, and committed him again and finally agreed! We are going to committ our other investigators that came to church to baptism sometime this week. One of the families that we are teaching has a pretty sad story. their son who is 17 murdered a girl and is in jail for 30 years. They have a great family though and hopefully we can get them baptised this month. It is always easier to teach people that have major problems in their lives. This thurs. i get to go to the temple again. I am so excited! The temple is amazing. I think you are going to be down here during that time. I can't tell you what day or time I am going but maybe we can get lucky and see each other. just kiding. you know that big house that I told you we got. well the day before we moved in they raised the price on us so we ended up not getting it. So we are still living in the same old apt. untill we find a new one. well I have to write a couple other people so I will let you go. thank you for everything!
Love, Elder Naylor

Hey Family
It was so good to get your emails! Not much has changed around here, except we got a new house! and a new car! Our house is really nice. it is right in the same area where we teach so no more long bike rides. since we don't have a church we got the house. us 4 missionaries are going to live in the upstairs, and the downstairs is going to be offices to do interviews and also the family room and backyard are going to be for family home evenings for recent converts and our investigators. We move in sometime this week I am so excited! We haven't had any baptisms for a while but we think that we will have a few in the next couple of weeks. I am finally starting to understand more spanish. I also am starting to talk to people more the other day I was practicing my street contacting. I did it pretty good. Unless someone starts going off about I don't know what. Then I get lost and just tell them that I don't understand spanish. and my comp jumps in and finishes my conversation for me. well thats about it thanks for everything!
love you Elder Naylor!!!

Hey family!the mission is going as good as ever. The biggest highlight of this week was the temple. Because my district had so many baptisms the past little while we had recent converts coming and going to the temple all day. So we got to the temple at 9:00am and left at 9:00pm It was amazing! All the other missionaries only got to stay a couple of hours. We only went threw one session, the rest of the day we were doing confermations and other things to help out. The day went by so fast. The temple was so full of people that they stayed open all night doing everything. I wish we didn't have a curfew so we could have stayed longer. I found out a lot about my companion this week. He is pretty much going to be a general authority or somthing high up in the church. He is the youngest trainer ever. He has only been here 2 transfers longer than I have. Everyone thinks he is going to be district leader next transfer. I guess we will find out next week. We had interviews with the mission president. He told me that I need to help my companion learn better english because he is going to be working with authouities. It was like he was recieving revalation right then and their. Later my companion told me that he was scared because of what president Donaldson said. He said that he pretty much quoted his patriarticle blessing. His blessing also says that he is going to write a book that will change peoples lives. So I think he is going to be the first puruvian prophet. He is an awesome companion we get along great. Thats about all I have this week. Thanks for everything!!

Love Elder Naylor

p.s. TaSha Thank You So Much For The Box Of Candy And Your Gigantic Letter. Make Sure To Send Me More Pictures Of Jake!! I also attached some photos for you! OH and I know it's a little late but I couldn't tell you in the middle of the week. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! ASHLEY, MOM, and DAD!!!

Hey I got a new e-mail. I Don't really have the time to read and write everything by e-mail so I will be sending a letter home each week probably. I have a coulpe questions though. Have you got all my letters and pictures I've sent you yet? Ask Nate or Kyle where my waterbackpack is. And when you send that will you send two of those boarder patrol hats. I think that they are in my room somewhere. I also need more stamps pretty soon to send letters. My mission is going great. Since I have been here my testimony has grown so much. Expecially about prayer. Since I can't speak in spanish yet I just sit there trying to keep my mind focused on what my companion is teaching. Sometimes I feel that it's important that we feel the spirit during the lessons so I pray that we will be able to feel the spirit and our investigators that we are teaching will know that what my companion is teaching is true. Every time I pray for this the mood of the lesson changes completely and the spirit is so strong. After the lesson is taught my companion allways tells me that we were just part of a miracle. Last night we had a fireside in spanish. I had no clue what the lesson was about and I knew that it was good because I could feel the spirit. I wanted to know what was going on so I said a prayer asking my father in heaven to help me understand what was being said. the second I finished my prayer my companion turned to me and said "Hey this is really good and I know that you don't understand it, so I am going to translate it for you." So my companion translated the whole thing for me. It seems like whenever I ask my father in heaven for something he gives me immediate answers. This mission is awesome. I love it so much I am out of time but be expecting a letter this week telling you more about my investigators and stuff.
Love, Elder Naylor!

Hey Parents,
Sorry about the letters and e-mail. I forgot my e-mail address and I called the mission office and they gave me a password to make a new one and that password didn't work so I am useing my companions untill I figure mine out. So go ahead and write me back on this one. I sent letters every week I don't know why they haven't gotten to you yet. I am sure that they have now. At least I hope so. I only can recieve and send mail on mondays. If you haven't gotten my letters I will tell you about my mission in this email. I started in the english speaking mission and after the 2nd day I got an emergency transfer and I am now in the spanish speaking mission. My first sunday I got to baptize 3 people, I had to do it in spanish so I was pretty scared. But it all went very well. The next sunday we had another baptism. His name is Tomas. He is an illegal and had a qretty bad life before we met him. Now he has a job and wants to buy a van to pick up our investigators to go to church on sundays. He is awesome. I am in the downtown part of SanDiego so I am right newt to the baseball stadium. It's pretty cool. We never go toward all the big buildings though because everyoune down there are just tourists and stuff. the area that I am in is the poorest and most dangerouse part of SanDiego . Everyounes houses are falling apart and we get yelled at and people swear at us everyday. We just ignore them and we really haven't been in any bad situations yet. My bike is awesome! thank you so much. There are so many hills here. It is definatly a workout. Right when we leave our apt. we have to bike up this huge hill that is so steap it is so tiering and even though it's like 75 digrees outside it feels like 120. In our area there arn't very many members. We have a small branch and we meet inside a school for sacrament meeting. But they are all awesome. They feed us every day. I am either going to love or hate mexican food when I get home. Sometimes it's really good and other times its in a nasty house nasty food and nasty drinks. I allways finish it though. I am learning to eat all my vegis. My spanish is coming along good. Thanks to president Donaldsons blessing. He gave me the gift of tounges and in the blessing he told me that I will learn Spanish way faster then possible for the human mind. He also said that it will be a huge blessing later in my life to learn spanish. It is still hard to understand anything that people say but I have learned to pray, say the baptismal prayer, bare my testimony, and I am working on learning the lessons. I also know alot more but there is so much more that I need to learn. Tell grandma thanks for the cookies they made my day and my companions too. probably our week. I will send her another letter next week telling her thanks. Thats awesome that TaSha had her baby. I wish I could see him. Anyways I only have a half hour on the computer each monday so I have to go cause I only have 5 min. left. Thanks for everything and make sure to send me pictures of Jake!!
love you,Elder Naylor
